The Italian company, with headquarter in Milano (Italy) and further production facilities in Notodden (Norway) and in Clinton (USA) is planning to build a new operation in Iceland in partnership with Strokkur Energy ehf, an Icelandic investment group and with the financial advice of Landsbanki, the leading commercial bank in Iceland.

The new Akureyri factory in Iceland has been designed to produce the fifth generation of high voltage foils, necessary to allow the increasingly sophisticated applications arising in the market. The new generation foils reduce energy power consumption of electrical and electronic equipments as required by Kyoto Protokol (enviromental agreement) and improve the efficiency of new energy generators such as solar cell and windmills.

In a highly motivated atmosphere in the presence of both the Icelandic Minister of Finance (Mr. Arni Mathiesen.) and Minister of Industry (Mr. Ossur Skarphedinsson) under the patronage of the Akureyri Municipality represented by the Major, Mrs. Sigrun Bjork Jakobsdottir, key agreements with Landsvirkjun, the national power company and Akureyri municipality were signed.

Mrs. Rosanna Foresti Rosenthal, Becromal spa vice President, believes that the new plant will begin the initial production at the end of the spring 2008 and it will be furtherly expanded in 2009 to reach a monthly high voltage foil production of one million of m2 by year end.
