University of Akureyri - ICT department

Akureyri has one of the fasted growing university in Iceland and is the largest one outside the capital, Reykjavík. Few years ago a department in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) was established and its story has been a real success.

Because of the international environment of the ICT industry all courses in the department are taught in English and many teachers are from the UK and other places in the world. This is the only faculty in Iceland taught in english and the department now attracts students from all over the world and is growing rapidly.

Globalisation has reached Akureyri where teachers and students from all over the world meet up and join forces. The ICT faculty is a true pathfinder of the internationalisation of the Akureyri region.
